Special Birthday

Good Tuesday Morning to all who visit my blog world.

This is another card I call my Magnus Magnusson cards, " I've started so I'll finish ". I'm not really happy with this one, don't know why. but we were so busy over the weekend I didn't have time to do another one.

Next month is Sue Wilson Dies, YAAY!!!. I must admit that this card looks better in real life than in the photo. So here goes.

Before I show the card can I say a big Thank you for your fantastic comments about my tutorial XX

Products used :-

Creative Expressions- Vintage gold card
Creative Expression- White pearls
Creative Expressions- Iced Snow
Phil Matins- Decadent Damask Birthday Verses
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Classic Rose
Sue Wilson- Corner, Border & tag Dies
Sue Wilson- Configurations- Petite arched Adornment
Spellbinders- Exquisite Labels Eleven

I have made my usual matt and layer with black & vintage gold layers, and a smaller layer with /White black & vintage gold card. The last layer of gold card I embossed with . Sue Wilson's new wild rose embossing folder. I then use an old Spellbinder die for the focal point and stamped the sentiment on it. I then backed it with double sided sticky sheet and added glitter to the cut out design pieces, then took the back of the sticky sheet off and stuck it to vintage gold card. I cut out the adornment die also in gold and added that to the top I cut two of the border dies and glued them to the edges of the card and pulled them forward for dimension and added some pearls. I cut two different sized roses and leaves and added some glitter to the petals and added to the bottom of the card. Finally I added two butterflies from my stash.

Hope you like this one

Felt Flower Tutorial

Hi All

I'm sorry I haven't managed to get this tutorial on my blog sooner, but I have had problems with my computer. It just won't play ball at the moment. My second apology is to Lynda, T ( Wheely Bad ) & Tres, also my computer wouldn't let me reply to the last 3 comments left on my blog, being the lovely ladies listed above. So ladies can I just say a big thank you to you for your lovely comments about my card this week and about the wild life. I am hoping it is just something to do with the last blog and not blogs in the future ie this one. As I have said before I like to say thank you as you have all taken time out to visit me and say such lovely things about my cards.

Here goes with the tutorial.

How to make this Felt Flower

Products used:-

Creative Expressions- Felt
Sue Wilson's- Configurations- Dainty Lace Edger
Sue Wilson's- Finishing Touches-Perfect Peony Complete Petals
Cosmic Shimmers- Clears dry glue
Creative Expressions- Dazzler

Cut out 4 times

Cut off the corners and keep the oval shaped waste for the stamens

Glue together in pairs

Turn one set of petals 45degrees and glue together

I cut a very small piece of card and glued the stamens to it and added a dazzler, then glued it in the centre of the flower

Then when it dries, give it a good gentle scrunch

Then pull apart and arrange it to your liking and add a few leaves. Et Voila, That's it Folks. Enjoy!

Love and Best Wishes

Good Tuesday Morning all

I hope you all had a good weekend, and the weather was kind to you. I had a hectic weekend and I'm hoping that this week is going to be kind.

I have taken a couple of photo's of my visitors to my hanging peanut pot.

Hope you like the card.

 Products Used:-

Phil Matrin's- Decadent Damask Birthday Verses
Sue Wilson's- Stamps to die for- Toscano, coordinates with Toronto die
Sue Wilson's- Canadian Collection- Toronto
Canadian Collection- Border Corner & Tag
Flower made by Sue Wilson's Configurations- Dainty Lace Edger
Tim Holtz- Distress Ink- Tattered Rose
Creative Expressions- Iced Snow
Foundations Card- Black/White
Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder- Detail Silver Shine

Firstly I matt and layered my black card with Pink and white card and embossed the white card with Sue's Rambling Rose EF. I then matt and layered a smaller layer but before I embossed the white card I made an aperture with Sue's Toronto die, embossed it then put sticky pads on the back for dimension. Before inserting the focal element I cut a square of sticky sheet to the pink card and added the Iced Snow. I then used all the other dies from the Toronto collection to make a sunken focal point  stamped it with perfect medium and used the silver embossing powder and heat embossed it,and also cut the tag from the Canadian collection, stamped my sentiment on it and attached it to the centre with sticky pads, and then placed it inside the aperture. I cut 4 corners from the Canadian Collection and placed in all 4 corners of the card. The flowers were made from Sue's Configurations- Dainty Lace Edger die. I cut this out 4 times for each flower, and cut off the fancy edges. to make the stamens I used the off cuts from the die. If anyone would like me to do a step by step tutorial I'm happy to do one. I placed a dazzler in the centre and scrunched the flower for movement. I hope all of this makes sense, if not leave a message and I will message you back.

Just a couple of pictures of my visitors. The Squirrel has taken up residence with a do not disturb sign, and when she does leave to bury her nuts in the garden the baby dove flies in for a meal. When the squirrel has buried her nuts she comes back to take up residence again, the baby dove sits on a branch watching her chomping away and in the mean time the rooks are swooping down and start eating the squirrels newly buried nuts. And we think we have a hard time!

I hope I haven't bored you all to much with such a long blog this week. Talk to you all soon. Take care all.

On your Special Day

Good Tuesday Morning all

Hope you all had a good weekend and the weather was fine enough to enjoy some time outdoors. We managed to do some things in the garden and the veggies are growing madly.

While writing this message I am looking out of my patio doors to 1 squirrel sat in the nut tray and holding onto the hanging nut feeder for a nut then sitting down in the nut tray again eating her prize. I've added a hanging basket full of peanuts to the feeding station and the doves have come in pairs, one sat in the hanging basket and the other sat on the edge waiting for their turn. It is quite a busy bird cafe, it's so lovely to watch.

This weeks card was made by using Phil Martins Verses and gilding wax.

Products Used:-

8x8 Black card
Foundations Periwinkle Blue card
Sue Wilson's- Art Deco EF
Noble Dies- Ornate Pierced Rectangles
Phil Martin- Decadent Damask Birthday verses
Foundations- Vintage Gold Card
Foundations- Black Card
Tim Holtz- Distress ink - Weathered Wood
Tim Holtz- Distress ink- Wild Honey
Sue Wilson- Configurations- Petite Arched Adornment
CE Gilding Wax- Graceful Mustard
Spellbinders- Rose Creations Megabilities

I first made a matt of Black, periwinkle and gold card, and then made a slightly smaller layer  to put the main focal point on.
I cut the Nobles pierced ornate dies to make a frame, and then used the mustard gilding wax to make the frame look a bit aged. Then cut the ornate part of the Noble rectangle and also another frame in periwinkle as a backing to the ornate cut. Hope this makes sense. I stamped the sentiment onto the left over card to the frame and covered it with double sided sheets and put Ranger stickles, clear rock candy on it for the sparkle. I cut 2 of the petite arched adornment dies and attached top and bottom of the frame. I made a few sizes of roses coloured with Weathered wood & Wild honey, and made a couple of butterflies that were in my butterfly stash.

Hope you like this weeks make.

Big Hugs all round and Thank you so much if you leave a comment. or just take a little peak. You are so Welcome.

See You Soon

1st DT Birthday Card for May

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday, and that the weather was kind enough not to stop you having a good one.

I can't believe with the rain we have had, have made the trees and shrubs burst into a life again throughout the garden, it's just amazing what a few heavy down pours can do for the garden. Our snowball tree is turning white and the blue bells under one of the trees are stunning.

This weeks card was made using Phil Martins Sparkle texture paste, and birthday verses, although I cut them up to accommodate the die but that is the beauty of stamps you can cut them to make your own sentiment. The only tip is, just cut it once don't go back to round or clean edges because you will never line them up again to make the original sentiment. Hope that makes sense.

I really appreciate all your visits to my little blog land, and hope you will leave a comment and visit me again. Thank you

Anyway here goes!

Hope you like this one too.

Products used:-

Phil Martin's- Sparkle texture paste
Phil Martin's- Birthday verses
Foundation Card- Blush
Sue Wilson- Finishing Touches- Peony complete petal
Sue Wilson-Scandinavian collection-Oslo
Sue Wilson- Portuguese collection- Border Corner & Tag
Sue Wilson- Portuguese collection- Lisbon
Sue Wilson- Finishing touches- Maidenhair Fern
Tim Holtz distress Ink- Tattered Rose
Creative Expressions- Iced snow
Creative Expressions Mask- A touch of Class
Sue Wilson- EF Rambling Rose

First I matt and layered Black silver and blush card and embossed the blush card with the Rambling Rose EF by Sue Wilson. I made a smaller matt with the same combination.

I then cut a piece of card 51/2"x51/2 and used the touch of class mask, I taped it down first and spread the Cosmic Shimmer sparkle paste over it. Lift off carefully and leave to dry for a couple of hours. When dry I cut the border die from the Portuguese collection 4 times. I managed to keep the 3 middle fancy pieces and cut either side of them , leaving the little tear drop shape to hook over the front of the card and attached on all 4 sides. I then cut the centre of the card out with largest plain cutting die from the Scandinavian Collection, Oslo, Each die after that I cut out the centre so that my sentiment will be set back in a deep aperture. I used Sue's New Peony flower dies nad maidenhair dies to create the flowers and attached some voile just to finish it off.

Thank you again for your visit, it is very much appreciated, and hope to see you again soon.

Take Care All

Big Hugs
