Love You

Good Tuesday morning everyone

Well what a start to my week. Mammogram Monday (routine one). I was the first one for the day. Although she was really lovely and really chatty, she said are you ready to be a little man handled. What can you say, No, or go for it! When she started her man handling, I said GOOD GRIEF you could have warmed your hands up, and because of that I think she gave that dial an extra tweak, then said, right hold your breath!. when all I wanted to do was shout Ouch! and then slap her, or is that just me!. Four photo's later, and red raw from the clamps I left thinking thank goodness that's done and dusted. Fingers crossed now for a good result. I really don't think our men folk know what we go through. If they had their bits man handled with cold hands then slapped in between 2 plates, squeezed till they want to shout Ouch!, told to hold your breath,  and say cheese!! I dread to think of the obscenities. Sorry ladies!!

I hope you are all managing to finish your Christmas shopping and wrapping the presents and have placed  them under the tree ready for the big day. I am sooo behind this year, never known a year like it. Claire & Craig can't think of anything, but then again want so much!  Craig with a new home  & Claire with baby on the way. We have already bought all the baby furniture for the nursery and are in the process of carpeting Craig's lounge and he wants a wall unit for his big TV and  man stuff ( Games ), but that's nothing to do with Christmas.Got To get things sorted this week.

Paul said he wanted to buy me the new Platinum machine as he is fed up with me saying the other machines don't cut in the middle, what do you think? Do any of you have this machine, and would you recommend it. Rose I think you said you had purchased this machine, what do you think of it? Is it worth it's money?

Anyway, enough already! Here goes with this weeks card.

Hope you like it!

  1. Morning Tina, wow what a stunner today, I love it, the flowers are fantastic, a special card from a special lady.

I totally agree with you about the mammogram, it has to be done but ouch is certainly the word I shouted but wanted to say a lot more, the air would be really blue if our men had to have their bits done like this...............I am chuckling away here just imagining it. But on a serious note it is always best to get it checked when called, I had mine in the summer only to be called back, had to have a biopsy which was a very worrying time but it was found to be just a fatty deposit with nothing to worry about, so I would always, always urge everyone to do it.

Still got lots more to do before Christmas, but getting there.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

What a lovely thing to say about me and my card, Thank you x.

I think you're right about the air being blue if our men folk had to do this.Good grief could you imagine that look on their faces, what a sight!

I'm sooo pleased your worrying call back was just a fatty deposit, what a relief.

I'm still chasing myself and not even close to catching my self up.

A beautiful card again ,such lovely roses and colour you have used Tina ,
Sorry i cant help you with the Platinum , i had a new GC then the Platinum came out shortly after { well thats about right } lol.
Have all my cards & presents now sorted , posted some cards and hand delivering the rest along with the presents ,took the Wreathes on Sunday ,so all i have to do now is the shopping {Dread Food Shopping with all the hustle and bustle } then that is me sorted and ready for Christmas.

    1. Hi Elaine

I agree with ouch!, with a little giggle too.

I have the latest cut n boss, and on all the plain dies it's brilliant but on intricate dies even a fraction from the edge won't cut first time and using the spray m boss too.

WOW you seem so far ahead with the Christmas preps, I'm no where near ready. Claire & I go to the church next week to lay flowers for my mum, older sister and the youngest of my 2 older brothers, and mums 2 friends.

I do the meat shopping at the wholesalers, and I give Paul a long list to get the rest as I hate shopping with a vengeance, even clothes shopping! Although I do like the Mothercare shop I frequent on the way home from one of the wholesalers.

Thank you for a lovely comment, glad you liked the card.

  3. Morning Tina. I know what you mean when you get on about your mamogram it's not fun. When i went for mine the lady was lovely and she told me that her hands were cold and that i should think of something lovely like a holiday that i had enjoyed as it would be uncomfortable. What she didn't tell me was the plates were freezing cold and that she was trying to slice them off. So pleased i only have to go back every five years. For once i seem to be ahead of myself with the christmas decorations and the presents bought and wrapped there is just the shopping to do and i will get that next Wednesday when my hubby is off work as i can't carry shopping because of my back and hips so i would be lost without him. He is a little treasure but don't tell him lol. This weeks card is stunning. The colours are gorgeous and the dies you have used are lovely. I am just hoping that santa is going to be nice to me next week as i have been a GOOD girl lol. Hope you dont think i am been cheeky but is there any chance you could do one of your fantastic tutorials on the cinch and go flowers. You dont have to do it now as i know everyone is very busy. It could be a one for the new year. That sounds frightining. Hoping you and your family are well. Take care Tina and have a lovely week. PS Forgot to mention the platinum matchine my friends husband bought her a one for an early christmas present and she loves it and the fact you can use your grand calibur plates with it is a bonus. Hope this helps.
    Best Wishes.

How can you think of a lovely warm holiday then get slapped between 2 cold plates, also I never go topless on my holiday's either, and expected to be man handled or am I just prudish.

All these ladies that are up together with Christmas put me to shame. I really do need that stick of dynamite.

your secret about your hubby is safe with me. Glad you have been a good girl, what are you hoping to get!

Really pleased you liked this weeks card, and the lovely comment too. If I finish the replies today I will do a demo later today to go on tomorrow. ( Thursday ).

  6. Hi Tina

What a beatifully stunning card, I'll say it again, you really do have a signature style. No one makes cards as flowery, delicate, pretty and with all manner of dies. This one just took my breath away.

Hope I'm not taking liberties asking this, maybe after Christmas could you demo those cinch and go flowers in one of your "flower craft" posts please? Seeing a flat image on a retail website of the packaging never gives us a good idea of how to go from die cut to flower! These are so realistic and go beautifully with the maidenhair fern.

The tests we ladies have... those boys are so lucky!

Organised? Noooooo. No cards made, have had to admit defeat on doing them all, last week was another write off and keeping blogging brief so I can wrap 3 gifts and write cards for tomorrow and Thursday without wiping myself out as I have visitors Weds then my PA Thursday. Will make a card for my nanna and hopefully also our respective parents but I lost enough time as it is. A lot of people getting vouchers this year as he's not through with work til 23rd so shopping was online and at the supermarket. Have at least got some ready made pastry and he's going to make mince pies with me tonight. Think he can spot a frustrated crafter when he sees one!!!

Ok, must have breakfast then feed Billy, who sends wags and woofs. Hugs to you and the family,

Now on the Platinum machine Patricia has it and loves hers, she has a post up showing a lantern she made, she was able to cut the whole thing out of a sheet of card as it cuts so well in the middle. Haven't got things to buy as ours get money that isn't much but they can buy what they want, grandsons will get small amount of money they will be able to buy or save. I know you are itching to get back to crafting again, and I can't wait to see some more of your stunning work.

I think I might book my next Mammogram in Spain, I'm sure she gave the machine an extra tweak because I moaned about her cold hands. Anyway, glad that one is over for another 3 years, just fingers crossed for a good result. Men get away with far too much, I agree!

Claire is blooming, and yesterday sent me a recording of our little granddaughters heart beat, Gosh it makes it so real. We both have something good to look forward to on the 1st of March, or for us there abouts.

Even with a4 embossing folder the results were very even and detailed all the way through.

I'm sorry about that . I love the cards - both of them!! Today's is a really beauty from the matting and layering right to the focal point! Really gorgeous. Those roses are to die for!
Speaking about dies! I bought the Platinum machine too. I'm really pleased with it. It has cut dies cleanly which I couldn't really cut with even the teal GC. Having watched Sue Wilson use it and how she used the GC plates , I was even more impressed. It gives more options for sandwiches if you see what I mean! I hope you manage to get one.

  17. Hello Tina,
What a beautiful card, it's absolutely stunning and the butterflies just look as though they have alighted for a rest on the frame. I love it.
Now as to Mammograms. I have never had one that was "comfortable", and I hate the part when you come out of the changing cubicle and have to walk over to the machine with nothing on your top half. It's degrading and unnecessary. I sometime wonder if they take a savage delight out of it. But now I am of a certain age, I will not have to go through the indignity and agony again YIPPEE. I know that I sound like a prude, but it's just the way I was brought up.
I'm miles behind this year, we have had a lot of upset and illness these last 5 months, so I'd better get myself sorted. And people will keep sending me cards ha ha.
I hope Claire continues to blossom and her pains ease, that Craig continues to settle in to his new home, and that you get the chance to rest and enjoy your Platinum machine when it arrives. Your husband sounds like a keeper!!!!

I'm with you on the part when you walk in the room with everything exposed, you are literally left in their hands. I was brought up in a very prudish home, and find it difficult to bare all to strangers and feel very intimidated. Thank goodness that's it for another 3 year's fingers crossed.

Thank you Maureen, Claire is continuing in the right direction, and is looking blooming beautiful. Craig is enjoying making his house into a home with our help & bank balance. Bless Him! It's just lovely to see the look on his face when another job is finished. Priceless1

  18. Hi Tina,

This card is stunning. I can't justify purchasing yet another set of dies...yet! However, I do think this set may go on the list. I looked at the flowers and thought they looked like the new Spellbinders one, which I have just bought, and hope i can produce flowers as beautiful as yours. Any tips?

I can't help you with the Platinum machine. I am very happy with my Big Shot which I use with a precision plate.

I really sympathise with you about the mammogram. I had breast cancer a few years ago so I am fairly rigid about having my checks every year... let's say that the discomfort of a mammo is far better than the hell that is chemotherapy. But enough of that.

You sound as organised for Christmas as I am, and ours gets here before yours! That International Date Line has much to answer for!

Thank you so much for the photos you post of your cards. I think we share a similar taste in cards but I don't have quite the same delicacy with my results. I will persevere nonetheless. I just want to know how you do those flowers!

Warmest regards from Australia (and it is warm)

Really sorry that you had to go through that awful ordeal of breast cancer and the dreaded chemo. I have watched my friends and Claire's bridesmaid go through chemo and it is Bl--dy heartbreaking. Luckily they have all fought that battle and I'm really pleased you have too.

I still have sooo much to do, I might even have to admit defeat this year unless I use a stick of dynamite.

It's a lovely comment you leave about my cards and I'm really pleased you have the same taste in cards.

  19. Hi Tina,
Fully agree with Jan(and you) mammograms are a damn sight better than breast cancer. And men don't know they're born anyway! If they had to give birth the human race would be extint by now.
I have grown up with a much more sober attitude to Xmas inasmuch we got "presents" that we needed and one tiny one that we didn't. So I would have no hesitation to say that Baby furniture and carpeting the lounge are the Xmas presents.
I've been in bed for the past 2 days with a stinker of a cold, chills, the lot. Chills have gone now so I shall endeavour to write all the Xmas cards for England to make sure they go out tomorrow.
Oh and yes, the Platinum is the one I've always wanted. Cuts like a dream - did you watch Sue's shows where she explains more about it.

  22. Hi - I'm new to your blog but I'm so thrilled to have found it! This card is simply stunning! I've examined each photo up close and love how everything flows so beautifully together. I just recently purchased the Cinch and Go flower dies so I haven't had a chance to play with them but I see such possibilities and will be watching for your video and future flowers. I love the layers you've created and your color choices are fabulous. I'm fairly new to Creative Expressions and Sue Wilson products but I've been purchasing dies as often as possible. I'm recovering from complications of multiple fractures of my pelvis and shoulder so my crafting time has been extremely limited this entire year. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from watching lots of youTube videos and shopping online for new products. I receive so much inspiration from talented designers like you and hope you can feel how much you are appreciated for sharing your gifts.

My husband and I had a very unusual Christmas this year. We weren't able to decorate at all and gifts were either ordered online or were gift cards. Just before Thanksgiving, my husband was diagnosed with a very severe heart condition. Combined with my injuries from a bad fall and we realized that trying to have our traditional Christmas was just not possible. We are waiting to hear test results from Mayo this week to find out if my wonderful husband will need a heart transplant. In spite of a difficult year, we had a special Christmas as we spent the day with my son and his family, including two precious grandchildren. There were lots of decorations, great food and holiday cheer plus my 84 year old Mother flew out to be with us. It definitely was a different Christmas but one we are thankful for nonetheless.

I am looking forward to looking at your previous posts and look forward to seeing what you will share in the future. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    1. Hi Sandra

I don't know if you will come back to read this, but my goodness aren't you having a tough time at the moment. I'm so sorry to hear your husband is poorly and that must have been one hell of a fall. Thankfully you spent Christmas with your son's family and two grandchildren and goes without saying your lovely mum!. It's really lovely when I get a new crafter joining my blog, it makes it so worth doing, I can't think of a more gentle pastime, and it's lovely to know you enjoy it too.

I look forward to seeing you again soon, hope you get some positive results for your husband.

      Happy New Year Sandra

      Big Hugs
